To end the 2013 season’s list of seminars and
conferences attended, the staff of Carroll
County Landscape, Inc. attended the 21st
Annual Vermont Turf Conference. This is
sponsored by the VT Greenscape Association and
features a trade show and speakers on turf
related subjects. Nine members of CCL were in
attendance at the meeting that was held at the
Fireside Inn and Suites conference center in
West Lebanon, NH on December 3rd.
Speakers from both the University of
Connecticut and University of Mass. provided
some excellent talks on best management related
topics. |

NHLA/NHPGA & UNH
Extension Joint Winter Meeting
The staff of
Carroll County Landscape was in
attendance for the first of several
winter conferences that are held
annually to network with fellow industry
professionals, attend landscape related
lectures and visit with trade show
vendors. In attendance on January 10th
at the Marriott Grappone Center in
Concord were Dave Alessandroni, Jan
Bicknell, Garrett Dorsey, Patti Thomas
and Meredith O’Blenes.

Next up was New England Grows. Held each year in February
this is the nation’s largest and most popular commercial
horticulture conference and exposition. Here 13,000 of
today’s green industry professionals connect with industry
suppliers and are able to attend lectures from horticulture
experts from around the country. In attendance from CCL
were Dave Alessandroni, Jan Bicknell, Tyrrell Nickerson,
Garrett Dorsey, Patti Thomas and Meredith O’Blenes. |

Most recently the staff of Carroll County
Landscape, Inc. attended the Spring Conference
for Landscapers. This was sponsored by the New
Hampshire Landscape Association and UNH
Cooperative Extension. It was held March 12th
at the Sweeny Hall Auditorium at NHTI in
Concord. The key note speaker this year was
Mary Holland, a Vermont naturalist, wildlife
photographer, columnist and author. At the
conference David Alessandroni and three other
longtime NHLA members were presented plaques
awarded as certificates of appreciation from
NHLA. The plaque reads ‘For his role as an
architect of the New Hampshire Certified
Landscape Professional program: For dedicated
leadership, devoted hours, commitment and
support. On the 15th anniversary of
the program, March 12, 2014.’ |
