New Safety Officer - Tom Brown:
During the winter of 2017 we added the new position of safety officer to our staff.  Tom Brown joined Carroll County Landscape, Inc. in 2015.  He has been a member of our installation crew, maintenance crew, bark blowing crew and pruning crew.  He is always anxious to expand his knowledge and attend the many educational opportunities we make available to our employees.  Tom has a BS in Community and Environmental Planning from UNH.  Prior to working for Carroll County Landscape, Inc. Tom was a data management specialist for the Strafford Regional Planning Commission.  While at SRPC he was also involved in improving the safety program for fieldwork through the acquisition of roadway safety equipment and the creation of new field protocols.

Tom’s past experience of running a safety program coupled with his great organizational skills has made him a perfect fit as our safety officer.  He conducts our company quarterly safety meetings and monitors safety procedures and equipment for us on a daily basis.  He is our go-to person for anything safety related.

2018 Joint Winter Meeting

Co-sponsored by the NHLA, NHPGA and UNH Cooperative Extension, the Joint Winter Meeting was another success.  The event included renowned speakers and vendor exhibits.  The snowy morning started out with discussion groups and was followed by general concurrent educational sessions and a keynote speaker.  Carroll County Landscape, Inc. was well represented as always and enjoyed a full day of presentations.  In attendance were Dave Alessandroni, Jan Bicknell, Tim Ross, Mike Novotny, Patti Thomas, Ron Lewis and Jess Buccella.  Due to the weather travel was slow but a safe ride to and from was had by all.

Mid-Winter and Early Spring Plans
Dave Alessandroni will be attending the MNLA Dreams and Solutions Green Industry Winter Forum.  This is another educational event held at the Sturbridge Host Hotel & Conference Center.  There will be a winter educational forum and job fair running concurrently.  Keynote speaker for the event will be Julie Meservy, an award-winning landscape designer and author.

NHLA Spring Conference
The staff of Carroll County Landscape, Inc. will be attending this annual event in March.  NHLA puts on a terrific set of educational sessions with speakers from across the country.  It’s at a time when the weather is starting to feel a bit more like spring and energy levels for the upcoming season are high.  We’re all looking forward to getting together again as a group and taking advantage of another educational opportunity.
